Paris Club creditors and Angola normalize their economic and financial relationships
December 05, 2007

Paris Club creditors welcome the official commitment by Angola to clear all its remaining arrears towards them and commend the government of Angola for its decision.

Angola has already paid to Paris Club creditors all its arrears except late interests and has resumed the normal payment of the maturities of its outstanding debt. The government of Angola has also committed to pay the late interests calculated by the Paris Club, in three instalments from January 2008 to January 2010.

This formal commitment from Angola to clear all its remaining arrears allows Paris Club creditors to normalize their financial and economic relationships with Angola. Paris Club creditors that wish to do so will resume their activities of export credit.
